WHOLE BAIT MEAT RIG

RUNNING WHOLE BAIT IS VERY SIMPLE AND PRODUCES FISH ALL DAY LONG. WHEN THE BITE SLOWS MEAT ROCKS.

1. INSERT A WHOLE BAIT FISH ( HERRING, ALEWIVE, SMELT, ETC. ) INTO THE BAIT HEAD. (5” TO 8” WORKS BEST)

2. PUSH A TOOTHPICK THROUGH THE HOLE ON THE SIDE OF THE BAIT HEAD, THROUGH THE FISH HEAD, INTO THE HOLE ON THE OTHER SIDE SECURING THE BAIT IN PLACE.

3. CUT OFF THE TOOTHPICK, LEAVING APPROXIMATELY 1/8” OVERHANG, FOR EASY REMOVAL LATER. *SAVE THE OTHER END OF YOUR TOOTHPICK.

4. INSERT THE SINGLE HOOK INTO THE BAITFISH LEAVING THE TREBLE HANGING FREE NEAR THE TAIL.

5. PULL A SLIGHT CURVE INTO THE BAIT AND INSERT THE OTHER END OF THE TOOTHPICK INTO THE HOLE OF THE BAIT HEAD JUST IN FRONT OF THE SINGLE HOOK.(THIS WILL HOLD THE LINE IN PLACE KEEPING THE CURVE IN THE BAIT). CUT OFF THE TOOTHPICK.

6. AFTER ATTATCHING THE MEAT RIG TO A FLASHER, DROP THE RIG OVERBOARD AND WATCH THE BAIT FOR A MINUTE.(YOU WANT A SLOW ROLL ABOUT THE SIZE OF A SOFT BALL). IT WILL BECOME EASIER TO GET THIS ROLL AFTER A COUPLE TRIES.
